JOE STUMP INTERVIEW

1. What have you been up to recently?
JOE STUMP: Well I just finished the new Reign of Terror
album and it sounds fucking killer, just an awesome slab of metal.
2. For someone whose never heard you before describe your music.
JOE STUMP: Its a combination of all my influences, some
Euro-style power metal mixed with elements of speed and thrash metal, a heavy dose of neo-classical virtuosity and some heavy cool-ass old school shit such as Hendrix and Ritchie Blackmore.
3. Will the Reign
of Terror be touring soon?
JOE STUMP: The new album will be out in the fall so certainly some
touring after it's released.
4. What do you hope to achieve
in 2002?
JOE STUMP: Just to keep doing what I'm doing, making great records, touring and spending every day with the guitar in my hands.
5. Any current players
you enjoy listening to?
JOE STUMP: Well I'm strictly old school but I do like Arch Enemy and
Children of Bodom as far as newer stuff goes.
6. Who are you favorite all time guitarists and influences?
JOE STUMP: Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore, Gary Moore, Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Schenker, Uli- Jon -Roth. If you looked at my
disc case when I travel it would be filled with all of em.
7. Name your favorite album from all these bands:
JOE STUMP: Deep Purple- Machine Head, Made In Japan
Scorpions-Virgin Killers, Tokyo Tapes
Dio- Last in Line
Rainbow- Rising, Live on Stage
UFO -Strangers in The Night
Yngwie Malmsteen- Rising Force, Trilogy

8. Have you been listening to
any of the newer Euro power metal bands?
JOE STUMP: I like the new Silent Force album
9. Final Thoughts
JOE STUMP: Just looking forward to getting out and firing up live, hope to see folks out at the shows and if you dig insane, amazing guitar you certainly won't be disappointed.
